The Aftermath…

Wow, it has been a long time since I have had the opportunity to blog.  As my previous post explained, I had been studying for the North Carolina Bar Exam.  Melissa and I lived at Elon and that part was great.  However, studying for the bar was one of the hardest things I have done.  I think it is difficult because you lose all sense of progression.  You get up every day and do the same exact thing.  The subject matter of what you are doing may change a little but the routine remains the same.  We studied for about eight or nine weeks non stop.  Each day we would put in anywhere between 8-10 hours and as we got to the last couple weeks we did more like 12 hours a day.  That’s not to mention the classes we took while at Elon to help us get prepared.  The bottom line is that it was an exhausting time.

However, throughout the whole thing I realized there were people battling a lot harder life challenges than me.  As tired and drained as I was sometimes the people in my life gave me that extra little push.  We know the results are supposed to come out at the end of August beginning of September.  I try not to think a lot about it but that is hard to do sometimes.  The fear of failure was a great motivator but now I can do no more – I just have to sit and wait.  I’ve come to the realization that if we fail we fail.  Nothing to do but take it again in February.  With that said, it would be a horrible scenario to do all of this all over again.  I think Melissa and I both are cautiously optimistic.  We are expecting the worst but hoping for the best.

The last couple weeks I have been working up at the law office.  Trying to get things to get things pulled together for Melissa and I and our Greensboro office if one of the two of us pass.  We are looking at office space this upcoming week.  Again, its hard to do too much without putting the cart before the horse as they say.  I’ve been doing a lot of online marketing stuff to get the firm together.  Feel free to check out the website at www.DuncanLawOnline.com and let us know what you think.

Now that the bar is over (for now) I’m hoping to remain more active on all of my social networking.  I hope everyone is doing well and I hope everybody has a great week ahead!
